Las Piňas to Zihuatanejo

This ended up being another long Drive day.

Stayed at a little park in Las Piňas, Not much to say about it other than it was a place to sleep. The next day we had a very long drive day as everything in Zihuatanejo was full and ended up driving all the way to Acapulco.

Aticama to Punta Perula

We departed Playa Amour around 08:30 AM and arrived in Punta Perula around 4:PM. Very long day (186 miles). The road down the coast is up and down, very winding and full of little villages with Topes. (Speed bumps) so it is very slow going. The mexicans pass going up hill, around corners, through towns and over Topes. It is very hard to believe that they don't have more accidents.

Another observation that I have made. All buses here are using Jake brakes.

The jack fruit is a melon shaped starchy vegetable that can reach a length of 3 feet, and weigh up to 100 pounds, making it the largest tree-borne fruit in the world. The fruits grow both from the tree trunk and from branches in the tree. They have a rough spiny skin and the uncut ripe fruit has a strong unpleasant smell, resembling rotting onions - but the cut fruit has a strong aroma similar to papaya or pineapple.

The interior consists of large bulbs of pulp enclosing a seed up to 1 inch long, with from 100 to 500 seeds per fruit. The flavor is similar to pineapple & banana but less juicy. The green Jackfruit unripe flesh is cooked as a vegetable and used in curries and salads. When ripe and sweet, it is eaten as a fruit. The large seeds are roasted and have a flavor and texture similar to chestnuts.

This is one of our leg streching spots, which there were very few of.

This is Dee and Poncho. Poncho is trying to learn how to fly and Dee is coaching him.

This is the beach.

This is one of the houses on the beach.

And another one. Chuck liked the Paplapa roofs I think.

This was a most unusual palm tree. Only in the yard so they must of imported them for beauty. This house certainly was beautiful with a pool and gardens of tropical flowers all over.

This is the fruit on these palm's. We had never seen anything like this and was amazed. We later found out there for show only. The fruit can not be eaten. Not like date or coco palms.

this is the other side of the beach. It looks pretty, but it was sort of trashy and smelled of dead fish and garbage. We were a bit dispointed with this area. Actually, if I had not gotten sick, we probley would not of stay the time we did here.

Well, this is it for now. We are

Aticama

Tecapan to San Blas
Distance 156 miles Time right at 5 hours. That
's long enough for us. That's a day in our book... So be it.......

Ok, I got to tell you all something before I start yacking about where we are staying this time. There was a guy we met and he is very nice. We have talked to him quite a bit, and he is friendly. He said to me "You know, you do barbarian chic very well." Being the fashion icon I am, I laughed and said, "So tell me, what is barbarian chic". He smiles at me and says that is when a woman dresss as I do. (Like what??, I am not naked, but hold on a minute, he did say DRESSs) I have to ask, How do I dress? He says that I wear lots of cut off levis (yeah, I know, I did cut up chucks old pants for shorts just before we came into Mexico) and I wear lacy sleevless tops with Jewelery. Barbarian chic. I guess this works for me!! I laughed and told him thank you I take that as a complament, he said that is how he meant it, especially since I "pull it off so well". So for all my friends and family out there, I want you to know you know a bonified Fashion Trend setter!!
Ok, Onward and Upward!!
This is a picture of the sunset last night. This is a little arch that goes out to the ocean. I think it is just a lovely touch to the park. But I really like archways and arbors, so of-course I would think this. Isn't it just beautiful!!
We are at Playa Amour outside of San Blass by about 8.5 miles. Hay, very little bugs that bit at night!!

This is another picture of the sunset, from a different angle. The sun has almost dropped into the ocean to sizzle out for another day. I love the sky and the light play on the water. I am wondering if I could paint one of these pictures. Guess I won't know until I try!!

For me, this is total tropical. Palm tree, Sunset, ocean and part of the beach with a sprinkle of rocks just before the sand. This is right out our left side from the RV.

This is our RV in the picture. This is what we are looking out at our back window. Pretty is it not!!!

Yesterday Chuck and I were going to go to an island. However, after I saw how far it was to get to said island (about a 70 miles truck ride backtracking the way we just came from) and honestly, I just did not feel like driving all that way. So we decided to go into San Blas as I really needed a pair of sandels since my brand new ones just broke. Let me tell you all something. IF your coming into Mexico and you like Flip Flops, bring your own. They are pricey out here. However, on that note, let me backtrack a bit and tell you that Teresa and I were in a Mall in Las Cruces about three months ago and I saw some sandels I really liked. Bead on top, etc. They were $80.00. Yeah, for a pair of fancy flip flops. Yesterday I found the EXACT sandels in San Blas for $7.50 US. Needless to say I bought a pair. I have been told these sandels are all over Mexico.
Sorry, got off tract!! After San Blass we are touring down the road and we see a sign advertising crocodiles. So we decide, hay, why not, lets go!! So we go.
Me being the crazy girl I am, did not take any pictures of driving through the Banana grove, but I should of. It was really cool. No, we did not stop and snatch any banana's as that is some body's bread and butter.
We got to the croc place and was very surprised. It was so clean and well kept. Crocs from this size below.....

To this size here.

Oh, backtrack again, this is a picture of some fruit growing on trees outside of the banana farms. I looked in the market for them and have not seen them anywhere, and we do not know what they are, but they sure do look like something that might taste good. Does anyone know what these are??

In the croc park, there is a beautiful lagoon that has the clearest water. No swimming allowed. That is where the wild croc's live. And there were a hugh one in that water!!
This tree was absolutely beautiful and since we never know when we will be back here, I needed a picture of it.
I thought I would share it with you all.

Also at this park, besides croc's were other animals. Juvelina (jungle pigs), raccoon in with four cudamondies, deer, Macaws, golden eagle and iguanas. Now, I did get pictures of them, however, they are on my camera and chuck did download them OR they came out so bad they were made to go away. (story of my life when it comes to anything techincal) However, Pancho was with us during this adventure. The deer (gentle little creatures that was licking my hand) attacked Pancho. Knocked that cage with it's hoof and a snort. Chuck laughed, Pancho attacked and I jumped. So we go and see the raccoon and cudamondies. Now, Chuck tells me..."Dee, DO NOT put your hand in there as those things bit" Of course, I tell my sweetie (who is trying to be protective) OK HONEY!!! Well guess what, these cute little creatures have been handled allot and want a back scratching. I did, they were happy and then swiped at Pancho for a death kill. Those things have claws about three inches long and hard as steel. (I know, I was petting ones paws and asking her is she would like me to paint them for her) Pancho attacks, we left. So we come along to the pigs. Pancho and I get to the fence so we can watch them eat, and that pig goes Ballistic! Calls all the other pigs over (I just saw this one, I had no clue there were a whole damm herd in there) to they could eat Pancho. Pancho attacks. Pigs come running out of everywhere, It was a pig manic race to see who could kill the dog!! I took Pancho up to the top of the hill so I could see how many pigs there are, then realize WHY they are going pig ballistic. They have three babies. So I leave (after I get pictures) and onward we go. Up the hill is a iguana place. I saw one HUGH one, but it got one look at us and split. By now I am thinking these animals must not like Pancho. So we head over and look at the birds. Eagle spots Pancho and his interest is peeked to the max. He is swaying back and fourth, Peeking up and down and looking VERY interested. I picked Pancho up as I was worried the bird would fly at the dog and hurt himself on the cage. That eagle watched me pick Pancho up and watched as we walked away.....Food.
So much for Pancho making friends with other animals. When we left the park there was a horse tied to a tree, so I had to go say hi to it. Pancho barked. He was going to be the first this time. Pancho went in the truck. Big day for him. He really should be happy we like him, we could of feed him to anyone of those animals. Croc's included.
So this is our adventures so far. We came home, I went and laid in the sun for a bit with my book, swam in the ocean a couple times and relaxed. Today we went into San Blas for groceries, had a nice lunch, went to a fruit farm and got some wonderful dried Mango's for snacks and now I am talking to you all. Oh, I did take Pancho to the beach with the camp's puppy so they could run and play. Now they are both sleeping.
Tomorrow we leave here and head toward PV. We are not going to stay but a day in that area, and then go past the city to another campground. Puerto Vallarta does not hold a lot of interest for Chuck and I, so we are headed for different territories. As you all can see, we really like beaches and small town's more than big cities. I think when we get to Acapulco I might take a bus into the city and taxi around so I can see some history filled building as stuff like that. Who knows, maybe when I see the city I will change my mind.
So for now, this is it. We will post again in a few days.
Much love
Chuck and Dee and Pancho to!!

Teacapan

We hit the road again on Jan 07 and headed for Teacapan. Made it there about 1:00 Pm and found a place to camp. (Rafeal's). Boondocking only left so we took it.. Turns out that Bob and Marie is also staying here. We met them at Villa Celeste...

The next day we take a ride and check out a geocache that has not been found since Jan 2006. Found the sucker and went up to check out the Villa Onac about 10 miles north of here. There is Jim, Donna and Jay. What a day.

After leaving there we went into town, which isn't much but we found the vegies we wanted and headed back to camp.

Tonight we are invited to a campfire get together at Villa Onac and will meet people who we have never met but corresponded with on RV.Net... Looking forward to the visit..

Dee here, That other voice was chuck!! Oh, now you will see a house I fell in LOVE with. This is the frount of it going in the gate.

This is part of the outside. This fountain was not working, but it is a beautful sight no less.

This is the side of the house, looking away from the fountain. If you could beleive it, this house was on a street by the ocean. From the deck you could see the ocean. I just fell so in love with this house that I had to drool over it for quite awhile. I so wanted to just stay there and stare at it, but Chuck made me get in the truck and leave.

This is a cross with Jesus at the boat docking place.

Is this not a pretty little lagoon?? Our camp is on the other side of the Palm tree's and up the beach a bit. This is by the house I love.

This lagoon is the same one, just a different picture. As you can see, we are in a pretty area.

We were told the town had gotten some money for repairs. So they made this very pretty street by the water. No matter that the towns strees are all stone and in the winter or rainey times the streets are flooded. This is prettier.

This is an RV Park across from us, well, on the side of us. It is a boondocking place. We are not there.

Ok, If you look across from the back of the boat, you will see a palapa. That is where we are parked.

It is time for me to go to the beach, so I will post more later. For now these will have to do. Will post more later, and maybe with some cutie pictures of our beloved Pancho. No, better yet, how about some plants?? We will see. (I can not get the courser below the picture, so sorry for posting the good-by above it.....computers only work for me when chuck is about five feet from me, the minute he walks outside, they act in a way they know I can not figure out...damm machines!!!)

Happy New Year!!

Hello, Hello, Hello!! Well, it is now 2007. Another year older. We have been having a great time. Today Marilyn and I went to the spa and got massages. It was nice, but just not as good as my regular Masseur Teresa. I sure miss her magic fingers. When I get rich I am going to hire her to come where I am traveling and give me a massage four times a week. Hell, I will be rich, make that everyday and four time on Sunday!!!

Here are some pictures of our New years party. The first one down below is the limbo thing. That was so fun. The young guy there is Michael. NONE of us old people could bend our backs like that. We was amazing doing that. That is chuck and Marie at the pole. They were brutes with that pole, would not cheat for me at all!!! I mean, HELP me at all by lifting the pole just a wee bit.

This is Frank and Dianne and Denise, they were not dancing, just talking. Guess ya got to do that every once and a while.

Now this was FUN. I (as my children know) love a good Congo line. I ALWAYS get one going if I can get drunk people together. Most of us were not drunk, but they did it anyway!!! Now how is that for sportsmen ship!! That is Rachel in the lead, her sweetie Michael, then the next person you can see is Noe, me, Marie and her sweetie, Bob. Who by the way can really dance!!

My sweetie holding a giant noise maker. This is a firecracker. It has a 1/2 pound of gun powder in it. He was really happy to see Noe and Michael get that baby. It is so loud that it rocks the trailers and your ear's ring for 15 minutes. I personally DID NOT like them. I only like the little firecrackers that you can blow up ant hills with.

As you can see all the children...eeerrr...boys were into these fireworks. This is Bill. He belongs to Libby. You can not see her. They can dance to.

OK, here is much later. We will go back to the other parties later. This is Noe and Michael drunk on the beach. After most everyone else left, we all went to the beach (We all were Noe and Estella, Rachel and Michael, There two dogs, Samson and Sunshine, Marie and Bob, Chuck and I) and made a fire and shot off fireworks and laughed at Noe and Michael.

OK, back to the party. I am taking a break from bugging everyone. This is Marilyn taking a picture and her Lloyd keeping an eye out that she behaves. Marilyn is such a wild person. (NOT)

Break time from dancing. Notice bob on the right hand side. He is melting!!!

Estella and Liza, her poodle.

Same picture??? Yep, Bob is still melting....

Oh, that is me and my baby. That was him when he had balls. He doesn't have them anymore. Someone in town chopped them off of him yesterday!! Happy New Year Pancho!!!

Michael. Yeah, he drank that. That is probably why he is dancing with that bottle!!! It was some sort of horrible apple stuff . Hard cider is what they called it. Taste like horse piss. Yeah, I know what horse piss taste like. I was cleaning our horses sleeve one time and was talking to the horse, and it pissed. Some splashed right into my mouth before I could get out of the way. Taught me a lesson. Keep you mouth shut when your head is close to a horse's pecker, and don't cry out with dismay if they by chance do pee.

Oh look, bob is not melting any longer. Marie must of helped him, or he got his second wind. There is Libby, Bill the firework piro's wife. (Like I have room to talk about firework piro's ...Chuck is as firework crazy as they come)

Chuck talking with a guy with Libby watching them. Look how serious Bobs face looks. Someone must be in the fireworks and he See's them.!!!

YEP!!! Bob was RIGHT!!! Noe, Bill and Chuck are all there at the table feeling, looking and fondling the fireworks.

Just so you guys can see again, the look on Bobs face, Chuck is in position, going around the
back side of Bob, and Bingo, got to the firework table before Bob could move!!!

Yeah Bob, Go Boy Go. He is limboing like an old man!!! OOOPPPPSSS, rephrase, he is limboing with out a bent back, notice I am encouraging, Rachel is clamping and laughing, Marie, the wife of the Limbo-er is smiling thinking...I am going to have to walk on his back, I just know it!!

I was trying to get chuck to dance. Believe it or not, It did not work. Look how cute Rachel is, she looks like she is doing and Irish Jig. In the background is Fern and her husband Don.

Break time.

My oh my, Look at Franks face when he See's Hugh's HUGH Yellow balls. (Pretend you can not see my hands)

Boys and fire. Light touch. Lloyd is running away, he knows what come next!!

Rachel out of the limbo stick, Dee Going for it. Yeah, that's about as far down as I got. I ducked under it, I am not dumb!!! Especially after I just paid for treatments to have by back straighted and but back it was supposed to be.

Dance contest between Noe and Bob!!

Michael building a fire, Samson helping his human and Noe bringing chairs for the ladies.

Oh Goody Goody!!! Chuck found ANOTHER Hugh firecracker!!!

Two drunk guys on beach. (They sure are cute in there little hats are they not!!!)

Well, this was our ringing in the new year. The things you can not see as there was not any pictures taken was when Michael shot off a bottle rocked and threw it in the air. It came right back to us around the fire!!! Great excitement. Also, what was not taken is Michael crawling in the sand lighting his fireworks....VERY funny.
It was a great time. Chuck and I can not believe we actually stayed up and brought in the New Year. We have not done that in years!! Hope you all had a great time as we did.
We leave here Sunday morning so our next posting will probably be after then.
Take care of your loved ones.
